New Release: Olari Elts conducts Erkki-Sven Tüür

Olari Elts and Tapiola Sinfonietta recorded three works by Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tüür.

The latest album includes world premiere recordings of two concertante works, “Illuminatio” and “Whistles and Whispers from Uluru” featuring violist Lawrence Power and recorder soloist Genevieve Lacey as well as Tüür’s Symphony No. 8. Erkki-Sven Tüür is one of the most outstanding voices in contemporary music today and regarded by many as one of the foremost living symphonists. Olari Elts has a long history of performing and recording Tüür works.

Olari Elts appointed as Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra from 20/21

Today, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ENSO) announces in a press conference that Olari Elts will become ENSO’s Music Director and Chief Conductor from the 2020/2021 season, for an initial period of three seasons. His first concert with ENSO took place in 1998 and he has been the Principal Guest Conductor of ENSO since 2007.
